Newsletter 10-4-2012

An October membership meeting was called to order @ 7:00 p.m. by Commodore Robert LaBuff.
A motion by Tony Perzanowski to waive the reading of the previous meeting was seconded by Barbara Vriale and carried. The Board minutes were read and approved by Barbara Vriale, seconded by Tony Perzanowski and carried.

Financial Secretary – Barbara Vriale reported there were no deposits for the month of September. A motion by Joy Zanchelli to approve the Financial Secretary`s report was seconded by Joy Vanucchi and carried.

Treasurer- At the Board of Directors meeting {10/01/2012}, Clark Henderson went over his detailed financial report. It was reviewed and approved {10/04/2012} with a motion by Barbara Vriale, seconded by Joy Vanucchi and carried.

Dock master- Tony Perzanowski reported we are pulling electric and water after the 13 th, of October. Fingers and mains will be pulled out October 27th, and Tony will be calling members to work for that day, which will start at 7:00 a.m. Tony also reported Uwe Hestnar sent another check for dockage to the club for$100.00 dollars. After discussion, Piper Malarchuk made a motion that we give Uwe Hestnar his check back. Larissa Morby seconded and carried. Members thanked Uwe for all his hard work to make the party a success and for all the weeks he has cooked for our club members.

Vice Commodore- no report

Commodore- Bob LaBuff thanked everyone for working hard to make the pig roast event a success.

Uwe Hestnar thanked everyone who helped him in the food preparation area. Without their help the party would not have been a success.

Tony Perzanowski thanked Joe and Barbara Vriale for letting the club borrow their tents for the party, which saved the club well over a thousand dollars.

Tony Perzanowski thanked Rob Wagner for buying two raffle tickets, which were not taken out of the mailbox at clubhouse for raffle, and for donation of decals and labor for t-shirts. Tony Perzanowski thanked Sue, Bob and Rob LaBuff for being the backbone of the pig roast event party.

Larissa Morby thanked Rob LaBuff for donating all the posters for the pig roast event.

The Catskill Yacht Club would like to thank The Macerators and the Sticky Sweet Bands for helping make our event a success.

Committee Reports:

Bar- Jim Gribben thanked Tony and Vicky Perzanowski and Joe and Barbara Vriale for cooking meals and generating money for the club. He also thanked all the members who bartended and the people who made store runs for the bar and for everyone who made the party a success.

House Committee Chairman-no report

Grounds Committee Chairman- Dave Becker thanked everyone who worked before, during and after the party.

Gas Chairman-Barbara Vriale reported for Joe Vriale, that the gas pump will be pulled out around the same time as the mains and fingers.

Council- Commodore Bob LaBuff reported there is no report till the next meeting.

Dock Rental Chairman- Joy Vanucchi reported dock rentals for the year totaled $2,675.00 dollars and $214.00 dollars tax.

Old Business- Sue Labuff went over a detailed report on the pig roast event. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED REPORT.

New Business- At the board meeting {10/01/12}, Vice Commodore Gary Vanucchi reported that Wayne Nelson would like to earmark profit from the party at the Freehold Pub on October 20th , to purchase a natural gas insert for the fireplace in the clubhouse. The Board recommends this to the membership. After discussion at the {10/04/12} meeting, Tony Perzanowski made a motion to go with the Board`s recommendation. Russ Coloton seconded and carried.

At the board meeting {10/01/12}, there was discussion about paying off the loan and keeping the assessment the same as last year, $150.00 dollars for a couple and $100.00 dollars for single. Ed Legg made a motion that the club pay off the loan and keep the assessment the same as last year. Daryl Legg seconded and carried. At the regular membership meeting, {10/04/12}, the board recommended this to the membership. After discussion, Tony Perzanowski made a motion to accept the board`s recommendation. Joy Zanchelli seconded. The membership voted this down. Ray McNeany made a motion to just pay off the loan and keep the line of credit open. Sue LaBuff seconded and carried. Tony Perzanowski made a motion to have an assessment for $75.00 dollars a couple and $50.00 dollars a single member to be paid by December 31st, 2012. John Malarchuk seconded. The membership voted this down.

PIPER MALARCHUK THANKED EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO THE CHINEESE AUCTION AND ASKED MEMBERS TO PLEASE START SAVING ITEMS FOR THE CHINEESE AUCTION FOR NEXT YEAR`S EVENT. THE AUCTION WENT VERY WELL AND THE ITEMS DONATED WERE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

Uwe Hestnar reported the kitchen exhaust needs a professional cleaning.

Commodore LaBuff reported Lenny Rein asked to use the clubhouse on Thursday, 11/29/12, from 6:00-10:00 p.m. for the Greene County Police officer`s association. Dennis Callahan would like to use the club on 10/18/12 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. for a short meeting. If anyone has any conflicts with these dates, please let Bob know. On Saturday, October 13th, The LaBuffs will be renting the clubhouse for a Jack and Jill Shower.
