Catskill Yacht Club
Minutes, July 5, 2012, 7:00 p.m.

A July membership meeting was called to order @ 7:00 p.m. by Commodore Robert LaBuff.

Commodore LaBuff asked the membership to offer up a moment of silence to a council
member and member of the Hudson powerboat association, Jack Wrigley, who lost his life to a
motorcycle accident.

A motion by Barbara Vriale to waive the reading of the previous meeting was seconded by Joe
Vriale and carried. The Board minutes were read and approved with only one correction by
Barbara Vriale, seconded by Joy Vanucchi and carried.

Financial Secretary – Barbara Vriale reported the deposits for the month of June. A motion by
Joy Zanchelli to approve the Financial Secretary`s report was seconded by Joe Vriale and carried.
Barbara reminded members to be aware of the expiration dates on your insurance policies and
make sure you get an updated one to Barbara Vriale or Joy Vanucchi. Barbara will be sending
bills out this weekend to members who have not done fifty percent of their dock time.

Treasurer- a detailed financial report prepared by Clark Henderson was reviewed and approved
with a motion by Joe Vriale, seconded by Lenny Rein and carried.

Vice Commodore- Gary Vanucchi reported the lunches for Saturday and Sunday duty days are
going well. He fills in when someone is not on for either day. If anyone needs some hours, you
can call Gary at 518-943-0840 to do a lunch. Gary also reported that Dave Cornell will let the
club borrow his pig roast cooker for the September 22nd party.

REMINDER- WHEN DOING A LUNCH FOR DOCK TIME, IT HAS TO BE APPROVED BY TONY
PERZANOWSKI AND HE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT IS ON THE LIST TO DO. PLEASE CALL HIM @
518-622-9777.

Dock Master- Tony Perzanowski asked all members that pull their boats in bow first, drop a
plum bob from the farthest point, if it hits the main dock, please move your boat further off the
main. The Lull will be out of service shortly to pull the pistons on the right side. There are a lot of
boards popping up on the docks that have to be replaced. Tony will check with Bill Walsh to see
if he has enough of one kind and color and will purchase some.

Rob LaBuff is putting on a Fundraiser Frost Bite Cruise with a raffle. Friday, September 21 st,
2012 {Macerators Band} and Saturday, September 22nd, 2012{Sticky Sweet Band}. Please

PER BOAT, and $75.00 A TICKET PER PERSON. RAFFLE WILL BE HELD SATURDAY AFTERNOON-
$50.00 PER TICKET, ONLY 200 TICKETS TO BE SOLD. 1st PRIZE-$1,500.00, 2nd PRIZE-$750.00, 3rd
PRIZE-$500.00, 4th PRIZE-$250.00. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESANT TO WIN. EVERY MEMBER
SHOULD TAKE TWO $75.00 DOLLAR TICKETS TO BUY OR SELL AND IF YOU CAN NOT SELL THEM,
PLEASE HAVE THEM BACK BY SEPTEMBER 3rd SO WE CAN SELL THEM. THERE WILL BE SIGN UP
SHEETS IN THE CLUBHOUSE FOR MEMBERS WHO WOULD LIKE TO WORK. WORKING MEMBERS
CAN GET THEIR TICKETS REDUCED TO $30.00 DOLLARS. IF ANYONE HAS ANY GAME IDEAS FOR
THE PARTY, CONTACT DAVE BECKER @ 518-239-2964. Uwe Hestnar is heading up the kitchen.
The menu for Friday night- Ragu Bolognese, salad, bread and butter and sheet cake for dessert.
Menu for Saturday-continental breakfast, Lunch- sausage and peppers, hamburgers and hot
dogs, drink specials, Dinner- PIG ROAST, baked beans, and corn on the cob, salad, sheet cake.
Sunday variety of hot breakfast.

Wayne Nelson would like to have a fundraiser for the club at the Freehold Pub, like last year. He
asked the board and club members to pick a date in October and get back to him.

Committee Reports:

Bar- Jim Gribben thanked the club members for the get well card .Jim also thanked Wayne
Nelson for letting him order our paper good through him.

Gas Chairman- Joe Vriale reported he has changed the water separator filter on the gas pump
three times already and will be changed again in August or September. The filters are supplied
from John Ray and sons for free.

Dock Rental Chairman- Joy Vanucchi reported May 14th thru July 5th associate dock rentals made
$1,375.00 and $110.00 in taxes. The three associate members who rented a dock were Gerard
Uhrik, Bob McEntee and Suzanne Gardner .REMINDER TO ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: WHEN YOU
WANT TO COME IN FOR TWO NIGHTS, PLEASE CONTACT TONY PERZANOWSKI FIRST @ 518-622-
9777. THE DOCKS ARE FULL. YOU ALSO NEED AN INSURANCE CERTIFICATE.

Council- Commodore Bob LaBuff reported the next council meeting should be held at the U.S.S.
Slater and is still waiting for conformation.

New Business-

Commodore Bob LaBuff opened up the general membership for discussion on the Board`s
recommendation on having no clubhouse party rental from Memorial Day to Labor Day, only
rented Monday thru Thursday for that time period and no rental of clubhouse for high school
graduation parties. After discussion Bill Fortman made a motion not to change the existing
policy and procedures of renting of the club. Joe Vriale seconded and carried.

The board agreed that the group of members that want WI-FI at the club for $57.00 dollars
a month and $89.00 dollars for installation would be a go, because they will be paying for it.

Karen Decker would like to rent the clubhouse on Sunday, September 9th, 2012 @ 11:00
a.m. for a Bridal Brunch. After discussion, Lenny Rein made a motion to accept the Board`s
recommendation and let Karen Decker rent the clubhouse on September 9th, 2012. Joe Vriale
seconded and carried.

Old Business- Vince Wallace wrote a draft copy, historical review of our club and asked board
members and club members to look it over to add or make changes. Vince still has some more
to add. This will be put in the Boating on the Hudson magazine and on our website. Vince asked
if anyone has any pictures of the flood, would they please contact him@ 518-851-7263. Also he
asked members that were there for the flood and after the flood, if they would like to write their
thoughts about it; he would like to hear from them.

Joy Vanucchi reported the club made $701.00 dollars from the yard sale and food profit was
$43.00 dollars. Joy thanked everyone who helped out that day. Joy also asked that duty day
workers set the cost for your lunch served and take your money out for the food you purchased.
Lunches are to bring people in, not necessary to make a profit for lunch. Also remember to put
your paperwork back into the duty day folder.

Tony Perzanowski is looking into replacing the bar stools that are broken, that he purchased
from the Mayfair company. After discussion Lenny Rein made a motion to table the discussion
and let Tony get more information on replacing them. Barbara Vriale seconded and carried.

Barbara Walter thanked every club member who made Uwe Hestnar`s Birthday Party a success!
The new pots and pans fund for the kitchen made two hundred and twenty dollars.

NEXT BOARD MEETING IS MONDAY July 30th, 2012 @ 7:00 p.m.

NEXT REGULAR MEETING IS THURSDAY August 2nd, 2012 @ 7:00 p.m.

A motion by Lenny Rein to adjourn the meeting @ 8:35 p.m. was seconded by Joe Vriale.
