A July membership meeting was called to order @ 7:00 p.m. by Commodore Gary Vanucchi
A motion by Bob LaBuff to waive the reading of the previous meeting was seconded by Barbara Vriale and carried. The Board minutes were read and approved by Joe Vriale, seconded by Barbara Vriale and carried.
Financial Secretary – Barbara Vriale reported the deposits for the month of June, {$2,072.28}. All members need to send a valid insurance certificate to Barbara, before launching your boat. The bills have gone out for dock time that was not completed before July 1st, 2013. A motion by Joy Zanchelli to approve the Financial Secretary`s report was seconded by Russell Coloton.
Treasurer-A detailed financial report prepared by Clark Henderson on {07-01-13}, was reviewed and approved {07-03-13} with a motion to accept Clark Henderson’s financial report by Bob LaBuff, seconded by Barbara Vriale. {There was some discussion about the club paying the sales tax on the lull, which will not be registered, and the club is a non for profit organization. The board will discuss this issue with Clark at the next board meeting.}
Commodore- Gary Vanucchi reported that at the Board meeting on 07/01/13, Clark Henderson recommended to the board that we have a fifty dollar assessment for each full member, because our total cash assets are low. Cliff Bertrand made the motion to have a fifty dollar assessment for each full member. Joe Vriale seconded and carried. The Board recommends this to the general membership. There was discussion at the regular meeting {07-03-13}. Joe Vriale made a motion that we vote on the fifty dollar assessment for each full member at the next general membership meeting on Thursday, August 1st, 2013. Bill Fortman seconded and carried. MEMBERS- PLEASE COME TO NEXT GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 1st, 2013 FOR THE FIFTY DOLLAR ASSESSMENT FOR EACH FULL MEMBER!
Dock master- Bud Whitcomb asked that members who dock work, etc., to please remember to write your hours in the notebook that is up by the bar. He thanked John Decker for doing a good job hooking up the pump out. Bud had the mailbox put up with all the connectors in it. REMINDER- PLEASE PUT YOUR NAME PLATES ON YOUR DOCKS. If you need a new one, they are in the shed on the left side, up on the wall. Bud thanked John Ray for doing a nice job painting the docks. He also thanked Jason Borgen for doing a good job leveling off the parking lot with the stone. REMINDER- ANY MEMBER THAT HAS A TRAILER PARKED NEXT DOOR IN SEAN`S LOT, PLEASE KEEP THE GRASS UNDER AND AROUND IT MAINTAINED. SEAN ALSO WOULD LIKE THE TRAILERS PARKED ON THE SIDE TOWARDS OUR CLUBHOUSE WITH YOUR NAME ON IT. Bud also thanked Mike McCurry for coming down with his loader and installing a new pole so the gate does not hit the building. VanKleek`s tire price went up, so we are getting a price from Haines tire.
Vice Commodore- Jim Gribben reminded members that the Commodore`s Party will be on September 28th, 2013- SEE FLIER. There are a lot of duty days to be filled for July, August and September and December is also open for two hours a week for the whole month, so please sign up.
Commodore Gary Vanucchi thanked Vincent Graham for hooking up the speakers for outside. Gary reported that he, Bud and Vince, cleaned out the garage and sheds and asked members to please keep them clean.
The Club Members would like to thank Wayne Nelson for all the delicious sandwiches he donates to the club and all the other donations he has made to the club.
Reports:
Bar- Jim Gribben thanked Uwe for cooking at the clubhouse the last few weekends. If anyone is interested in coming for dinner, please call the clubhouse to see if Uwe is cooking. Jim thanked everyone for keeping the bar area clean.
Building Committee Chairman- Joy Z. read Vicky Perzanowski`s report. The floors will be done on Wednesday July 10th, 2013. Tables and chairs will be put on the porch Tuesday, July 9th, 2013. Vicky needs someone to paint back room floor and porch floor. Ice maker and coolers have been serviced and working. Please keep back door closed because of heat, dirt, etc. getting in. Vicky will look into getting a new thermostat for the back room fan so it does not run all the time. If you have any questions or need work hours, please call 518-821-5258 or 518-622-9777.
Grounds Committee Chairman – {John Ferguson is donating a sink for the men`s bathroom. {07-01-13}- John Ferguson reported the flower beds look very good and thanked the members who worked on them. John thanked Mike McCurry for coming down with his loader and installing a new pole so that the gate does not hit the building. John thanked Bud, Gary and Vince for cleaning out the garage and sheds. Clark Henderson brought down his commercial weed whacker and he thanked Clark and Bill for taking care of the property next door. John also reminded members who have their trailers parked next door on Sean`s property that they are responsible to maintain the grass under and around it and to also put your name on your trailer. The name plates are in the shed on the left side, up on the wall. John also thanked any other member that has done ground work. REMINDER- PLEASE BE CAREFUL NOT TO HIT THE SIDING WHEN WEED WHACKING. If any member or associate member needs hours, please call John at 518-589-0142. We need people to weed whack and for grounds clean up.
Gas Chairman- Joe Vriale reported the ethanol stickers are on the tank and Corey Fong will be staining and hanging the doors on the gas tank by the end of next week.
Dock Rental Chairman- Joy Vanucchi reported that dock rentals for June totaled $1,215.00 dollars for six rentals. Joy asked that associate members renting docks to please have your application, insurance certificate, and your check turned into her before you launch your boat. Members, please have your name plates on and at the correct boat dock. You can contact Joy @ 518-943-0840. The rental people and dock number is posted up on the board in clubhouse.
Old Business-Joy Vanucchi thanked everyone who helped make the yard sale a success this year. We will have another one next year. She thanked Joe Vriale for the use of his tents.
Vincent Wallace thanked Bill Fortman, Clark Henderson and John Ray for doing a great job cleaning up Sean`s lot next door.
Jim Gribben thanked Maggie Fortman for telling him about the flagpole needing halberds on it. Thank you to the anonymous person for putting them up there.

Council- Robert LaBuff reported that there was a retired coast guard at the meeting in Troy and wanted people to be aware of terrorist on or near the water. Coast guard will be doing surveys of ramps and launches along the river. The mandatory boating course will be in effect May 2014 for children ages ten to sixteen years of age that want to operate a boat or jet ski.

John Smith announced there will be a raft up this Saturday 07/06/13 and Sunday 07/07/13 across from the Hook Boat Club. Anyone can come. Bring your own food. He will call ahead to see if the Hook boat club can accommodate us for showers. It should be a good time, so come join in the fun!
