Newsletter 5-2-2013

A May membership meeting was called to order @ 7:00 p.m. by Commodore Gary Vanucchi.

A motion by Barbara Vriale to waive the reading of the previous meeting was seconded by Joe
Vriale and carried. The Board minutes were read and approved by Joe Vriale, seconded by Cliff
Bertrand and carried.

Financial Secretary – Barbara Vriale reported the deposits for the month of April, {$7,603.08}.
All members need to send a valid insurance certificate to Barbara, before launching your boat.
A motion by Joy Zanchelli to approve the Financial Secretary`s report was seconded by Joe
Vriale.

Treasurer-A detailed financial report prepared by Clark Henderson on {4-29-13}, was reviewed
and approved {5-2-13} with a motion to accept Clark Henderson’s financial report by Joe Vriale,
seconded by Cliff Bertrand.

Dock master- Bud Whitcomb reported there was a lot of work done power washing and
staining and painting the docks and fingers and building Vince`s plan into a loft. Bud put a list
for everyone`s dock time. Bud reminded members there is no penalty for working extra hours.
There are a few more mains to stain. If anyone needs some more hours, the stain, brushes, and
rollers are in the shed. The 1998 Lull is now down to $15,500.00 dollars. We still have the line
of credit. Commodore Gary Vanucchi and Vice Commodore Jim Gribben asked the secretary to
post in the newsletter that at the next general membership meeting on June 6th,2013 we will
vote on whether or not to buy the 1998 lull. Daryl Legg is cleaning out the shed on Saturday,
May 11th. Anyone storing their personal belongings in there needs to remove them, or they will
be put in the garbage.

Vice Commodore- Jim Gribben stated he was very impressed with the turnout of people that Bud
had working at club this past week and Vince Wallace, Bob LaBuff and Gary Vanucchi, building
the loft. There are still a lot of duty days open. November and December are also still open if
anyone wants to do two hours a week for a month. Jim thanked Pam Coalton for doing a great
job for the month of the April shift.

Commodore – Commodore Gary Vanucchi had Vince Graham explain to the membership how
the wireless internet would work. Vince explained the wireless internet would be a onetime
charge of $59.00 dollars to install and $89.95 per month, for a six month plan. The total for six
months would be $599.04. Members who would like to have this would get a password from
Vince and be billed accordingly. The board recommended to the membership to try this for a six
month period. After discussion Ed Legg made a motion to go with the board`s recommendation.
Cliff Bertrand seconded and carried. ANYONE INTERESTED IN WIRELESS INTERNET PLEASE

Reports:

Bar- Jim Gribben – asked that every member please remember to ring in your bar purchases. Jim
also complimented the members on how clean the clubhouse has been kept.

Building Committee Chairman- Vicky Perzanowski asked members to please put the glasses and
dishes, etc. you use in the dishwasher and not leave them in the sink. There is a mat outside the
door to wipe your feet on. If any member needs anything or sees anything that should be done,
please contact Vicky at 518-622-9777.

Grounds Committee Chairman – John Ferguson reported that we need to purchase a jump
box for the club. If anyone uses the lawn mower please remember to shut the key off. If any
member or associate member needs hours, please contact John at 518-589-0142 or 518-821-
4294.

Gas Chairman- Joe Vriale reported the gas pump is not hooked up yet. The motor does turn. Joe
is waiting for a call back from Gary Albert to see if he can come over to hook up the three wires.
The doors on the gas tank are not on yet and need to be stained or painted.

Dock Rental Chairman- Joy Vanucchi reported we are booked up for May and June. You can

Work Chairman- Cliff Bertrand reported he needs the hours of people working from each
chairman. He only has hours for John Ferguson and Bud Whitcomb. You can contact Cliff at 518-

Council- Robert LaBuff reported the Flare Up will be held at the Dutchman`s Landing on May
19th, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.. The Coast Guard will be demonstrating how to put out fires with fire
extinguishers and how to use flares, etc. If anyone has any out of date flares to donate, please
contact Bob at 518-943-9552

Old Business-

New Business-Vince Wallace reported that we need to purchase new boat pools and a toss
ring and the fire extinguishers need to be updated. Dock master Bud Whitcomb said we need
half dozen cleats. Bill Fortman said he would ask Shawn to see if he could get them wholesale
through a catalogue.

Joy Vanucchi reported that we will be having our second annual YARD SALE on Catskill Yard
Sale Day, SATURDAY JUNE 1st, 2013. She asked members to please bring in any good used items

for the sale and you can put them in the corner of the shed. Joy would like to do a little lending
library. Lynn Graham offered a free bookshelf to the club. Joy will go pick that up.

Bill Fortman reported that someone should contact the Board of Health so someone will be here
to let him in. Bob LaBuff will give them a call.

Special Events:

At the board meeting on April 29, 2013, some of the board members reported that they had
received calls from associate members who have asked why they were not notified of a vote on
the September 14th party and also about the rules stating that they as associates have no voting
rights or participation in meetings, and the rule stating they are encouraged to participate in
club functions. The board had some issues of how this event was handled. Commodore Vanucchi
contacted Tony by phone. At the meeting on May 2nd, 2013, Tony Perzanowski read a letter
to the Board. {SEE LETTER ATTACHED} After Tony read the letter and expressed his thoughts,
and there was some discussion, Joe Vriale made a motion for Tony to hold off sending back the
money he has received for the party and by the next board meeting, a decision will be made to
have someone else chair the party or cancel the party. Joy Vanucchi seconded and carried.

Tony has already set up the date, the food and he reserved a band for $550.00 dollars.
